Terms of Service: Haqq

Welcome to Haqq. These terms explain the rules for using our service. We've kept them in plain language on purpose: Haqq is for everyday people, not lawyers. By using Haqq, you agree to what's written here.

1. Accepting These Terms

By using Haqq, through our website, WhatsApp, or Android app, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Haqq Is

Haqq is a free platform that gives women in India clear, plain-language information about their legal rights. It uses AI (Google Gemini) together with a curated library of verified legal reference material to answer your questions, and it can generate basic document templates (such as complaint drafts) to help you take the next step.

Haqq is available in multiple Indian languages and can be used by text or by voice.

3. Haqq Is Not a Lawyer

This is the most important thing to understand. Haqq provides general legal information and document templates. It does not provide legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a licensed lawyer or other qualified professional.

  • Haqq does not create a lawyer–client relationship.
  • Its answers may be incomplete, out of date, or not right for your specific situation.
  • The law changes, and every case has its own facts.
  • Before making an important decision, acting on anything Haqq tells you, or filing anything official, please consult a qualified lawyer.

If you cannot afford a lawyer, you have a right to free legal aid. Contact the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) at nalsa.gov.in or your State Legal Services Authority.

If you are in immediate danger, contact the police (112) or a women's helpline (181) right away. Haqq is not an emergency service.

4. Using Haqq Responsibly

When you use Haqq, you agree that you will:

  • Use it only for lawful purposes and for your own information.
  • Not use it to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or misuse the service or its systems.
  • Not rely on it as your only source of legal guidance for serious matters.

Haqq is intended for adults (18 and older).

5. Document Templates

Haqq can generate document templates to help you get started. These are starting points, not finished legal documents. You are responsible for reviewing, correcting, and completing anything you generate, and, where it matters, having it checked by a qualified lawyer before you rely on it or submit it anywhere.

6. No Warranties

Haqq is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be accurate, complete, uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We rely on third-party services (such as Google and Meta) that we do not control, and their availability can affect Haqq.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Haqq and the people behind it are not liable for any loss, harm, or damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, or from any decision you make based on information Haqq provides. Because Haqq is a free service that offers general information only, you use it at your own discretion and risk.

8. Third-Party Services

Haqq depends on third-party providers, including Google Gemini (AI responses and voice transcription), Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (voice replies), the Meta WhatsApp Business API (WhatsApp messaging), and Supabase (which hosts our verified legal reference library only, not your conversations). Your use of Haqq over these channels is also subject to those providers' own terms and policies.

9. Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of India. We hope it never comes to that. If you have a concern, please reach out to us first so we can try to resolve it directly.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as Haqq evolves. When we do, we'll post the updated version on this page and change the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use Haqq after a change means you accept the updated terms.
